Women Celebrate Menstruation and Menopause in Local Moonlodge

The Wise Woman Center in Woodstock, NY, is home to many wonderful woman-empowering activities throughout the year. Among these are the Moonlodge gatherings that the Wise Woman Center and Susun Weed, renowned herbalist and author of women’s health books, have been offering the public for over 20 years.
These gatherings are free and open to women of all ages. Participants are welcome to sing, dance, pass the talking stick, and honor women’s wisdom. Indoors or out, depending on the weather, each visit is sure to be a unique experience shaped by the moment and women present.
Women’s Sacred Moonlodges are held on a nearly monthly basis, always on a Friday.
The dates for 2009 are:
April 24, May 8, June 5, July 10, July 24, August 7, August 28, September 11, and October 23.
There is no need to register, simply arrive between 6:45pm and 7:15pm. Please arrange to stay for the entire moonlodge. If you need directions, email for a return email, or phone at least a week in advance to have directions faxed to you. Founded twenty years ago by internationally acclaimed author and herbalist Susun Weed, the Wise Woman Center exists with the purpose of offering a safe space for women to rediscover the Wise Woman Way. Nestled in deep magical woods and located between Woodstock and Saugerties, 5 miles from the NYS Thruway, the Wise Woman Center is easily accessible while still private. Studies include plant identification, herbal medicine, cancer prevention, women and chanting, goddess belly dancing, and feeding the creative spirit.
