FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Herbalist and Author Susun Weed Dives Deep into the Heart of Herbalism at the 9th International Herb Symposium
This year’s 9th International Herb Symposium, a benefit conference for the United Plant Savers, held June 19-21, will be sure to touch your heart and soul as well as mind and spirit. This gathering is for all people enraptured by the healing essence of herbs. The International Herb Symposium offers herbal enthusiasts an incredible opportunity to learn from the world's leading experts in botanical medicine and herbal lore. Whether a novice or advanced in your herbal interests, the Symposium offers a vast assortment of classes and sharing experiences to touch every level of your being. Among the many noted teachers will be world-renowned herbalist and author of four best-selling books, Susun S. Weed.
Susun will be leading three classes through the weekend.
On Friday afternoon, from 2-4pm, “Magical Herbs” will show that green magic is all around. It flies with the fairies, dances with the devas, is revealed in the secret language of plants, and is transferred in plant spirit medicine. You’ll explore the magic of psychoactive plants, mojo bags, flying oils, love charms, and dream pillows. You will learn how to combine your intentions with the energies of the plants to create more of what you want in life.
“Prostate Power” on Saturday afternoon from 2 to 3:30, Susun speaks to both men and women on the much needed health care of prostates. Baby boomer numbers are swelling and so are their prostates. Your loved ones and your clients need help dealing with a problem that affects virtually every man in America. There are, of course, delicious foods, and easy life-style changes that can reduce the risk of prostate enlargement (BPH), prostatitis, and prostate cancer. This workshop will include research from Susun’s upcoming book, “Down There the Wise Woman Way, A Guide for everyone with Genitals”.
Finally, Sunday, the last day of the conference, go on a “Tree Spirits Tree Walk” with Susun from 1:30 to 3pm. Join her for a magical time in the presence of the trees of Wheaton and the surrounding forest. You will sit in silent communion with special trees, as well as talking about their uses.
These wonderful three days will be held at Wheaton College in Norton, Massachusetts. The cost for the symposium is $275 ($250 if paid in full by March 30th) and includes workshops, herb walks, and all lectures except for intensives. The intensives are an additional $35 each and are 3 ½ to 4 hours long. It is recommended one register early for intensives as space fills up fast. This symposium is a benefit for the United Plant Savers, and is being organized by Sage Mountain. Founded in 1987, Sage Mountain is one of New England’s foremost learning centers for herbs, earth awareness, and medicinal plant conservation. Located on 600 pristine acres in central Vermont, this beautiful piece of Earth Mother is a natural sanctuary and teaching site. Throughout the year they offer workshops, conferences and travel adventures that emphasize our relationship to Earth Mother and each other. Their teachings encompass multi-dimensional traditions and experiences, all striving to bring us closer to ourselves and in deeper relationship to the earth and all her relations. Their focus is on medicinal plants and traditional herbalism, but their pathway wanders deeply in and out of the sacred terrain of the spirit.
