Press Release – Goddess Conference

FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:

2008 Goddess Conference
in Glastonbury

Honors the Wild Maiden

July 30 , 2008
Glastonbury, England

2008 sees the beginning of a new nine year cycle for the Goddess Conference during which the focus and theme of this Conference will move through each of 8 different faces of the Goddess, which are expressed through the eight directions of the Wheel of the Year, beginning with the Imbolc Maiden Goddess, and ending in the Centre in the ninth year.

In 2008 the Goddess Conference begins its new cycle by honouring the Wild Maiden Goddess, She who is Awake, Alive, Untamed and Untameable, filled with Love. She is the Renewer, the Quickener of the Seeds of the future which lie dormant within us. In this 2008 Conference the focus is on our Natural Human Wildness, which is deeply rooted in Her Wilderness, rather than on wild behavior that is a reaction to imposed authority.

The Goddess Conference is a wonderful opportunity to learn about different aspects of the Goddess, to renew your commitment to Her, to fully experience Her loving, healing nature, to make your pilgrimage to the Wild Maiden within Avalon’s sacred landscape, to enjoy yourself in the company of like-minded Goddess-loving people, to meet old friends and new.

The days will be filled with wonderful activities and presenters. Among them will be acclaimed teacher and herbalist Susun S. Weed. On Thursday morning, 9:30am to 1pm, Susun will be presenting on the Spirit and Practice of the Wise Woman Tradition. That afternoon, from 2:30pm to 5:30pm, she will speak on Amazing Artemisias, leading a shamanic journey into Artemis’s sacred woods.

A wonderful cornucopia of events “on the fringe” of Goddess Conference 2008 is being offered to enrich your experience of the conference itself, or to enjoy any of these events as an inspiring Goddess experience in its own right.

On Monday July 28th, Join Susun for Green Blessings, Earth Magic, Herbal Medicine, a day focused on your needs. We will choose from a basket brimming with possibilities: after our talking stick ceremony we may go on a weed walk, do an earth attunement meditation, learn how to talk with plants, discuss Wise Woman remedies for your specific problems – from menstruation to menopause, osteoporosis to orgasms, and – of course – tell stories and sing songs. Bring your curiosity and your sense of adventure.
