Press Release – Susun in Mendocino
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE:
Philo School of Herbal Energetics is Proud to Host Renowned Herbalist
and best-selling Author Susun Weed
Mendocino County, CA (PRWEB) October 21, 2005 -
The Philo School of Herbal Energetics in Mendocino
County, CA, is proud to host renowned Herbalist and best-selling author
of New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way, Breast Cancer? Breast Health!,
Healing Wise and Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year, Susun
Weed. The weekend of October 21-23, 2005, will begin with an evening
lecture by Susun on Friday night, then be followed by two all-day classes
with her on Saturday and Sunday.
Friday evening’s talk on “Menopause From Three
Directions” runs from 7-9pm in the Caspar Community Center,
and costs only $10. As you approach, or find yourself in, your menopausal
years, who can you trust to tell you how to weather the symptoms of
the Change and remain hale-hearted, strong boned, vital and sexy as
you grow older? Are there any safe hormones to use? Is soy a help or
a horror? What is the mystery behind hot flashes? Susun will highlight
three views of menopause: the Scientific belief that menopause is ovarian
failure and lack of estrogen; the Heroic or Alternative view that menopause
is an imbalance, or an estrogen dominance; and the Wise Woman perspective
that menopause is puberty prime", a metamorphosis that initiates
women into the most powerful stage of their lives.
“Seven Medicines” is the talk for Saturday,
10am – 4pm; $100, again in the Caspar Community Center. Herbal
medicine is but one piece in the big picture of health care. It is one
of the Seven Medicines: story medicine, energy medicine, lifestyle medicine,
herbal medicine, pharmaceutical medicine, and high-tech medicine. Teasing
out the differences between these medicines, and being clear about the
differences between nourishing, tonifying, and stimulating herbs, can
make our practices safer, easier, more successful, and more fun.
The weekend will conclude Sunday with “Green Blessings,
Earth Magic.” Again, this runs from 10am-4pm and costs
$100. It will be held at Philo Pharm and is limited to 20 people. Join
Susun for a day focused on your personal health needs. We will choose
from a basket brimming with possibilities: weed walks, earth attunement
meditation, herbal and Wise Woman help for specific problems, trance
journeys, talking stick ceremony, and - of course - songs and stories.
Bring your curiosity and your sense of adventure. Your life and your
health will never be the same.
