The Inaugural MidAmerica Herbal Symposium will be held June 6-8, 2008, in Winona, MN, at St. Mary’s University. There are annual gatherings in the Northwest, Southwest, Southeast, and Northeast United States. Wonderfully, this year the Midwest joins in the tradition, as it intends to continue each year, featuring all the wonderful herbalists you have come to enjoy at other gatherings.
This year’s Symposium is hosting some spectacular workshops for the beginner to the advanced individual interested in herbal medicine and herbal lore. You can enjoy a peaceful stroll through the woods on an educational herb walk. You can choose and attend classes on various study of herbal medicine. Workshops include: herbal first-aid, herbs and cancer, aromatherapy, body assessment, traditional medicines, herbal medicine making, pregnancy, depression issues, animal medicine, chronic fatigue, type II diabetes, and the list goes on. Seven intensive workshops are being offered additionally. These gifted teachers/authors will be honoring our symposium with book signing on Friday evening and Saturday evening we are going to relax and enjoy an evening of dance.

Meals will be available for the weekend. Local farmers are supplying us with some very scrupulous foods. A meal ticket can be purchased at a cost of $65.00. This includes seven meals from Friday’s lunch to Sunday lunch. A continental breakfast will be available Friday morning for a fee of $5.00.
Lodging will be in the college dorms with linens and bedding available. Fees are $33.00 per night, 3 nights at $65.00, and 4 nights at $85.00. One and two person rooms are available. These are local hotels if you rather stay off campus.
