We are bringing Susun Weed, voice of the Wise-Woman tradition, to the Chattanooga/North Georgia area. Susun is internationally known as an extraordinary teacher with a joyous spirit and an encyclopedic knowledge of herbs and health.
For 40 years she has opened hearts and minds to the magic and medicine of the green nations, restored herbal medicine as people's medicine, and empowered women to care for themselves. She is the author of four highly acclaimed books on herbs and women's health: Wise Woman Herbal for the Childbearing Year, Healing Wise, New Menopausal Years the Wise Woman Way, and Breast Cancer? Breast Health! the Wise Woman Way. From her home in the New York Catskill Mountains she directs the activities of the Wise-Woman Center and personally oversees the work of 1000 correspondence students and trains herbal apprentices.
Susun has lived the simple life for nearly 40 years as an herbalist, goat keeper, home-steader, and feminist. She has been called a "true radical - deeply rooted", " a modern pioneer," and "one of the founding mothers of herbal medicine in the United States.
She is prepared to allow these workshops to evolve into whatever we need. CEU's will be available for midwives and other health care professionals. The womb-wisdom theme will be weaved throughout the weekend. Please sign up ASAP so that we can accommodate. Space is still available. Individual workshops or the whole weekend are optional.
